Our Process

Initial Scoping

The Winlow process begins with Initial Scoping, which can be done via phone, email, or our Project Inquiry page. This step involves understanding your space, project requirements (e.g., use change, aesthetic improvements), desires (e.g., marble tile, custom murals), and constraints (e.g., lot size, budget). This helps establish an initial scope and preliminary budget, which can be discussed and amended before moving to the next phase.

Design, Planning, & Budgeting

In this phase, the initial scope and budget are refined into detailed plans and line-item costs, broken down by CSI Division. This allows for better cost allocation and prioritization. Projects may require designers or architects, especially for structural modifications or specific design needs. Winlow offers a range of professionals to assist with any required solutions.

Project Execution

After finalizing Design, Planning, & Budgeting, Project Execution begins. If permits are needed, this phase starts with submitting plan documents and procuring materials. Construction can start immediately if there are no permit delays. Winlow will handle the permit process, advocating on your behalf to resolve any issues.

Project Execution includes an initial kick-off meeting to review the project team, permit status, and other key details. A mobilization date will be set, and onsite construction will commence as scheduled. Winlow will lead the construction process, ensuring all scopes are completed efficiently.

Project Closeout

The final phase ensures proper project completion through systematic documentation and handover procedures. This includes collecting warranties, operations manuals, and final permits, as well as completing punch list items and systems testing. Financial closure involves processing final payments, obtaining lien releases, and resolving any outstanding change orders. The project concludes with a formal handover package containing all relevant documentation, keys, and warranty information. Winlow remains available for the 11-month warranty walk-through and any warranty-related needs that arise during the coverage period.
